Mumbai: Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede has written to Maharashtra Director General of Police Sanjay Pandey requesting not to initiate any action against him as some people were trying to falsely implicate him in the Aryan Khan case.

Wankhede shot the letter after Prabhakar Shail, a witness in the Mumbai cruise drugs bust case disclosed on social and electronic media that for release of Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan, big money was involved and Wankhede was allegedly receiving a cut.

News doing rounds on Sunday in various media said another witness in the same case, KP Gosavi was playing a middleman for the release of the 23-year-old actor son.

A demand of Rs 25 crore was allegedly made to the Bollywood star and apparently a deal was finalised at Rs 18 crore, out of which Rs 8 crore was said to be given to Wankhede and remaining would be distributed among other people.

Shail, was working as bodyguard of Gosavi and stayed with him only. He overheard a conversation between Gosavi and one person, Sam. Thereafter, he said he delivered Rs 38 lakh to Sam at Nariman point.

Shail further said NCB officials had taken his signature on 9 to 10 blank papers and Gosavi and Wankhede allegedly said ‘Kay hot nahi, kar shahi’ (nothing will happen just sign) and Shail signed on the papers. Thereafter, he switch off his phone and went to his friend's place in Sholapur.

He only came out with these details, Shail said as he got a call from his wife asking about what has happened. "Why police are regularly calling me and my father," he quoted his wife as saying.

Shail was scared and approached a political leader, and only then disclosed it on social media.

Gosavi was his boss, that is why he listened to him and did all these things. Till today his salary is pending with Gosavi, Shail said.

Gosavi is the alleged private investigator whose selfie with Aryan had gone viral the very next day after the he was taken into custody on October 3.

Shail, the bodyguard of independent witness Gosavi, in a "signed affidavit on October 23 and notarized by RB Gupta notary government of India", made certain claims regarding the anti-narcotics investigation agency.

Shail alleged several things regarding the probe and the activities carried out during the raid on the cruise ship off the Mumbai coast on October 2.

The NCB busted an alleged drugs party on the Cordelia Cruise ship which was on its way to Goa at mid-sea on October 2.

Aryan Khan, and few others were arrested during the raid. After the arrest, Aryan made two bail applications in local, as well as in the special court, which were rejected on the ground by local court for having no jurisdiction and the special court saying his release on bail may influence the witnesses and hamper the ongoing investigation.

A fresh bail plea by Aryan's lawyer will come up for hearing on Tuesday before the Bombay High Court. (UNI)
