Bihar: Police officer crushed to death by sand mafia

Patna: In a brazen act, alleged sand mafia crushed to death a police officer and injured a home guard when they were on patrol in Bihar's Jamui district.

According to police, the tractor driver on Tuesday hit the patrolling party when they tried to stop the sand-laden tractor. ASHO Prabhat Ranjan and the home guard cop Rajesh Shah were crushed by the tractor driver.

Both were rushed to the Sadar hospital in Jamui where the doctors pronounced the ASHO dead. The injured home guard cop was undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The deceased ASHO Prabhat Ranjan was an officer of 2018 batch.

The police superintendent of Jamui Shaurya Suman was personally investigating the incident. (UNI)
