Chandigarh: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday morning conducted raid at the local residence of former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda in connection with cases of alleged land scams during his tenure.
A team of CBI, reportedly from National Capital, reached early morning at the Model Town residence of Mr Hooda here to conduct a raid at his house. No one was allowed to enter the residential premises of the former Chief Minister.
Mr Hooda was reportedly present at his residence at the time of raid.CBI, reportedly, is conducting raids at 30 other places in Delhi and National Capital Region(NCR), allegedly, in connection with an investigation in to the cases of land scams.
In February last year, the CBI has filed a charge sheet against the former Chief Minister and others. The probe agency had registered the case in 2015 on allegations that private builders, in conspiracy with some officials, had bought 400 acres in and around Manesar at throwaway prices, causing the owners a loss of Rs 1,500 crore.
