Chinar Corps greets ‘son of Kashmir’ rifleman Khan for scaling mount Everest

Srinagar: Chinar Corps on Monday congratulated rifleman Javed Iqbal Khan of Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JKLI) regiment by creating history by scaling mount Everest on June I, 2021.

Earlier, Havaldar Mohammad Rafiq of the same regiment unfurled the Tricolour on top of the world in 2013.

Both the soldiers, sons of Kashmir, have made Indian Army proud, the Chinar Corps said.

In a Tweet on official account of Chinar Corps of Indian Army said, “Rfn Javed Iqbal Khan of JAK LI Regt created history by scaling #mounteverest on 01 Jun 21. Earlier, Hav Mohd Rafiq of the Regt had made #IndianArmy proud by unfurling the #Tricolour on top of the world in 2013. Both soldiers are proud sons of #Kashmir.” (UNI)
