Goa: 47-year-old ward boy held for molesting minor girls in hospital's lift

Panaji: A 47-year-old ward boy of a government-run hospital at Mapusa, around 16 km from the capital city, was arrested on Sunday for allegedly molesting two minor sisters.

According to police, the accused, was a ward bot at North Goa District Hospital.

As per the complaint filed by family of the victims, the accused used to follow the two sisters in a lift and molested them. The victims would frequently visit the hospital where her mother was admitted.

The incident took place between September 23 and 25.

A case had been registered under section 354, 354-A, 354-D, Section 8 of Goa Children’s Act and section 8,9 and 10 of POCSO Act, the police said.

In another incident, a doctor was booked for allegedly molesting his patient at his clinic on September 22.

The accused had behaved inappropriately with the lady patient during a check up, the complaint said.

The doctor had moved anticipatory bail in a court, the police added. (UNI)
