Aurangabad: In honor of late Gopinath Munde's social work, a special postal cover unveiling ceremony will be held on June 3 by the hands of Bharatiya Janata Party National President JP Nadda at Gopinath Fort at Parli in a virtual manner to mark his seventh death anniversary, informed Dr Bhagwat Karad, Rajya Sabha MP here on Sunday.
Dr Karad said that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central Government has completed seven years on Sunday.
Born into a farming family of the late Gopinath Munde sacrificed his life to raise the BJP in extremely adverse conditions.
Mr Munde died in an unfortunate accident in 2014 in New Delhi. In view of the social work and politics he has done, the Central Government will hold a special postal cover and cancellation ceremony on June 3.
The cover of this post will be inaugurated in the presence of BJP National President JP Nadda, Union Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad virtually.
Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis, Bharatiya Janata Party Maharashtra State President Chandrakant Dada Patil, Union Minister of State Raosaheb Danve, Minister of State Sanjay G. Dhotre, several MLAs, MPs will be present on the occasion as well as Central office bearers, Maharashtra office bearers, District Presidents, will be present in a virtual manner, said Dr Karad.
The event will also be telecast live on Facebook. Mr Munde's daughter and the organizer of the event Pankaja Munde and MP Pritam Munde will be present at Gopinath Fort from Parli.
Mr Munde fought and struggled all his life to bring justice to the weak and deprived sections of the society including renaming of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar University.
He carried out many agitations on social and political issues and brought justice to the society.
Therefore, his social work is unforgettable, for which a postal special cover is being issued in his name in honor of his work by the Central Government.
