Mandya (Karnataka): Hindu outfits on Friday gave a bandh call in Srirangapatna in protest against police inaction in Dalit family attack case.Last week a Dalit family was attacked by a group of Muslim youth over a petty matter in the limits of the KRS police station.
Besides asking shopkeepers to shut down commercial shops and observing bandh till evening, the Hindu organisations plan to take out a procession through Srirangapatna's arterial road to the police station.They also are expected to stage a protest outside the police station.The Hindu organisations are demanding immediate arrest of the accused persons and legal action against them.Police security has been beefed up in view of the bandh call in the area.(UNI)
