Mumbai: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) spokesperson and Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik on Tuesday said he is firm on his statement pertaining to the birth certificate of Narcotics Control Bureau Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede, which Malik has called "bogus and fake".

Wankhede is probing the Mumbai cruise drugs bust ship and rave party involving Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan.

Speaking to the media here, Malik said: "Sameer Wankhede, was born in a Muslim community, and was married to a Muslim girl named Dr Shabana. Later had a second marriage with Kranti Redkar, to get benefit of scheduled caste, he had changed his caste and has snatched rights of poor persons, he said.

Malik claimed Wankhede "used to make illegal phone intercept of wellknown people through two private persons and blackmailed innocent persons". The NCP minister said he has all the evidence of private persons, their name and address, and will disclose them at an appropriate time.

Malik challenged Wankhede's father and sister (Yashmin Wankhede) to file a defamation case against him (Malik) under section 499 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) as he is ready to face them, adding that all evidence will be brought before the court.

Malik said he had received an unknown letter from NCB officer from Mumbai office, stating that Wankhede had a group of officer, who were involved in extorting money from big people. The officer mentioned 26 reports and cases in which they have extorted money.

The writer has already sent the same letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Home Minister Dilip wales-Patil and Director General of Police Sanjay Pandey, Malik said.

Meanwhile Uttar Pradesh Police declined to take into custody key witness in the Aryan Khan case, Kiran P Gosavi, who has been called the middleman in the bribe angle in the case. A team of Pune city has already left for Lucknow to nab Gosavi, who is wanted in several other cases. (UNI)
