J&K: Cloudburst in Baramulla kills 4 members, including 3 children, of Bakerwal family

Srinagar: Four members of a Bakerwal family, three minors, were killed and an octogenarian was missing after cloudburst occurred in the upper belt Hamam Marcoot in north Kashmir district of Baramulla. 

Officials told UNI on Sunday that a cloudburst occurred in upper belt of Dangiwacha at Hamam Marcoot under the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Dagiwacha Sopore during the intervening night of September 11 and 12.

They said police and SDRF teams were immediately rushed to the area for relief and rescue operation.

The rescue team recovered four bodies of Shahnaza Begum (30) wife of Mohammad Farooq, her daughter Naziya Akhter (14), son Mohammad Tariq Khari (8) and Arif Hussain Khari (5), all residents of Kalsiyan Nowshera Rajouri in Jammu division.

One person Mohammad Baashir Khari (80) son of Chandi Khari is still missing, they said adding the rescue operation was still going on when the reports last came in. (UNI)
