New Delhi: Delhi Police has arrested ten people in connection with the Jamia violence where incidents of arson and stone pelting took place in protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act.
According to police, no one among the ten people arrested was associated with the varsity and they were not students.The ten people, who were arrested on Monday night, have a criminal background, sources said.
On Sunday, protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act near the Jamia University led to violence and arson in the area wherein four DTC buses, ten police patrol bikes and 100 private vehicles were damaged.
The police had filed two FIRs regarding the incident wherein around 30 police personnel also got injured including senior officers of the district.(UNI)
