Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir government has constituted a committee to inquire into the incident of the wrong distribution of question papers in the 12th class examination.

The students of class XII, while appearing in their examination on Wednesday, were in shock after they received question papers meant for class 11th. Following the errors and complaints of students, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education postponed the 12th examination of the Physical Education paper.

The JKBOSE came under sharp criticism over this error.

The J&K government’s School Education Department on Wednesday evening constituted a two-member committee to inquire into the incident.

The committee would comprise Director School Education, Kashmir, and Director School Education, Jammu.

The ToR (Terms of Reference) of the committee would be to inquire into the incident of the wrong distribution of 11th grade question papers to 12th grade students who appeared in the board examination on March 20 by the JKBOSE.

“The Committee would look into the circumstances of the cancellation of the examination and fix the responsibility for negligence at the supervisory or administrative level,” the order issued by J&K’s administrative secretary, SED, Piyush Singla.

"The Committee shall co-opt any Chief Education Officer (as required) or other officer and submit its findings to the Administration within seven days," the order reads.
