Kannur: RSS worker faints, dies in hospital

Kannur: A 32-year-old RSS worker of Panunda near Thalassery fainted to death at a private hospital in the early hours on Monday.

BJP alleged that he was beaten to death by CPI(M) workers following a clash between CPI(M) and Sangh Parivar workers on Sunday at Panunda. Four RSS workers were admitted to Thalassery Indira Gandhi Cooperative hospital.

According to police, the deceased was identified as PV Jimnesh of Panunda.

Police said Jimnesh was just a bystander. His brother P V Jishnu and other three RSS workers were admitted to a hospital at Thalassery following the attack of alleged CPI(M) workers.

Jimnesh fell down following fatigue around 0330 hrs on Monday and died at Thalassery Indira Gandhi Co-operative hospital.

BJP District president N Haridas said, Jimnesh also suffered internal injuries following the attack of CPI(M) workers on Sunday and he succumbed to internal injuries at hospital.

It was on July 24, evening, four RSS workers A Adarsh, PV Jishnu, T Akshay and KP Adarsh were admitted to the same private hospital, following the attack of CPI(M) workers, when they were returning to their houses after attending the "gurudakshina" programme.

The window panes of the house of T Akshay at Penangimetta near Pinarayi was also damaged by stone pelting by CPI(M) workers, following the attack.

A clash between CPI(M) and BJP workers were reported at Panunda Sunday, following the damage to flags and banners of both parties. (UNI)
