Kerala: 11-yr-old speech impaired child killed by stray dogs in Kannur

Kannur (Kerala): A bunch of stray dogs attacked and killed an 11-year-old kid with speech impairment in Kettinakam, close to Muzhupilanghad here.

According to police, the deceased was identified as Nihal Nowshad, son of Nowshad and Noosifa, who lived in the Darl Rahman Pallakadathu neighbourhood close to Muzhupilanghad.

Nowshad was employed in the gulf.

Nihal was also a student of Jesus special school at Muzhupilanghad.

He was suffering from autism and was also impaired to speak.

The incident took place on Sunday late evening, family sources said he was missing around 1700 hrs from the house.

In the aftermath of a bunch of stray dogs biting him deeply in the face, stomach, and legs at around 2100 hours, the neighbourhood people later discovered him lying in pools of blood inside the bushes, around 300 metres from his home.

They rushed him to Thalassery general hospital, but doctors declared brought dead.

The post mortem will be held on Monday morning and the funeral function will take place at Edakkad Manappuram juma masjid. (UNI)
