Kozhikode: A 20-year-old final year B.Com student on Thursday sustained serious head injuries in the attack of her boyfriend with a sword near her house following love failure.
According to police, the incident took place around 1400 hrs when the girl was returning from college at Perode near Nadapuram.
The accused Rahinas (22) of Mokeri attacked Naheema of Perode with a sword which led to serious injury on the back of her head.
After the attack, Rahinas 'himself cut his wrist in an attempt to commit suicide'.
Nearby residents shifted both of them to Nadapuram Taluk hospital and later shifted to separate private hospitals at Kozhikode for further treatment.
The health condition of the girl was serious, hospital sources said.
Later, Rahinas confessed to the police that he conducted the crime following love failure. (UNI)
