Maharashtra: 8 killed,13 injured as bus collides with speeding truck near Sindkhedaraja

Buldhana/Nagpur: At least 8 people were killed and 13 sustained serious injuries after collision between a speeding truck and an ST bus in Maharashtra's Buldhana district, a senior police official said.

According to the official the accident took place on Tuesday morning at around 6 am on the Mumbai-Sambhajinagar-Nagpur highway, near Sindkhedaraja in Maharashtra's Buldhana district.

The bus was traveling from Sambhajinagar towards Washim when the truck and bus collided near Palaskhed Chakka village in Sindkhedaraja taluka of Buldhana, said the official.

Eight people have died and 13 people have sustained serious injuries in the accident .The condition of 5 people is critical, said the official.

The death toll may rise , said the official adding that the injured are being treated at Sindkhedaraja's rural Hospital.

The identity of the deceased and injured could not be established immediately.

Police are investigating the incident further. (UNI)
