Maharashtra: Youth attacked in Ahmednagar for sharing a post related to Nupur Sharma, 14 persons arrested

Pune: In a major breakthrough, the Ahmednagar police has arrested all the 14 accused in connection with the attack on a youth who was supporting the former BJP Spokesperson Nupur Sharma on the social media.

Making the confirmation about the development, Manoj Patil, Superintendent of Police Ahmedabad District of Maharashtra told UNI over phone that Karjat Police has arrested 14 accused who absconded after beating up youth.

The accused has been identified as Sohail Shaukat Pathan (age 28), Arbaaz Kasam Pathan (age 25), Shahrukh Arif Pathan (age 28), Ilai Mahbub Sheikh (age 20), Tipu Sarim Pathan (age 18), Sahil Shaukat Pathan (age 23), Harshad Sharif Pathan (Age-20), all residents of Lohar Galli, Karjat; Nihal Ibrahim Pathan (Age 20) Aqib Kudarat Syed (Age 24), residents of Hanumangalli Karjat; Junaid Javed Pathan (age 19), Hussain Kasam Shaikh (age 40), resident of Pimple Gurav, Pimpri Chinchwad; Arbaj Ajit Sheikh (age 24), resident of Pargaon district, Daund and two minors were also arrested in this connection.

The Chandrashekhar Yadav, Sr police Inspector of Karjat said that victim Sunny Pawar, a youth, was severely beaten up by a gang in Karjat two days ago. Police arrested six accused in this case yesterday. The police have seized a four-wheeler used in the crime from them. The accused were produced before the Additional District and Sessions Court Srigonda who remanded them to police custody till August 10.

Under the guidance of Sub Divisional Police Officer of Karjat Division Annasaheb Jadhav, Senior Police Inspector Chandrashekhar Yadav of Karjat Police Station, Assistant Police Inspector Satish Gavit, Police Sub Inspector Amarjit More, Bhagwan, rest accused were arrested today and they will produce in court tomorrow for further remand.
