Kolkata: As the second wave of infections gripped India, more and more people have started looking for self-isolation options at hotels, especially when they don't have adequate infrastructure for home isolation or are anxious about infecting the more vulnerable members of the family.

While majority of the infected patients are self-isolating at homes, many have to look beyond their homes for isolation requirements.

To help solve for quarantine and isolation needs of COVID-suspected patients, MakeMyTrip has partnered with over 500 hotels across multiple cities to offer safe and comfortable isolation rooms. These cities include Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Cochin, Lucknow, Kolkata, Pune, Jaipur, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh and Ludhiana among others.

Bookable through the MakeMyTrip platform, most of these hotels are offering an all-meals inclusive rate as hotel stay during isolation needs to be as self-contained as possible.

Besides this, MakeMyTrip has also recently launched CoviRide, an open, peer-to-peer community platform designed to help individuals, organizations and larger community to seek and provide transport related assistance during this difficult time. Available on mobile web and desktop < https://coviride.com/ >, the community platform aims to solve one of the biggest challenges of finding transport options (intercity or intracity) including ambulance services for COVID-19 infected patients.

It also helps the user locate a ride to a vaccination center, drive through oxygen centers, to and from the hospital and for medical equipment transfer such as oxygen cylinder, concentrator, medicines, among others.

Additionally, to further help address medical equipment needs, MakeMyTrip foundation is also procuring 300 Oxygen Concentrators and the initial set of Oxygen Concentrators have already been shared with Gurgaon Administration, Sir Ganga Ram City Hospital, Delhi and NGOs like Hemkunt Foundation and National Association for the Blind (NAB).

The foundation is also collaborating with RWAs across Delhi-NCR to assist in setting-up Covid-Care facilities at large residential areas by providing oxygen concentrators. (UNI)
