Father who murdered impregnated 14 yr old daughter after rape gets death sentence

Surat: A special court here on Friday awarded death-sentence to a man for raping and killing his adolescent  daughter more than two years ago.

The special court of  additional district and session judge P S Kala held Tukna Das, a native  of Odisha who lived in Pandesra area in Surat city of Gujarat, guilty of  'rarest of the rare' crime of raping and impregnating his 14-  year-old daughter Lisa and later strangling her to death.  The  body was  recovered from a secluded place near Dumas road here on June 30, 2017.

According to prosecution,  Das had repeatedly raped his  daughter Lisa while he was living with his second wife(victim's step-mother) who was not aware of it. When she became pregnant, Tukna hatched  conspiracy to kill her in cold blooded manner. The court awarded death sentence to him. The DNA test had confirmed the same. (UNI)
