Nagpur: A man committed suicide at Maharashtra's Nagpur railway station in full public view, railway sources told UNI on Tuesday.
As per the sources, the incident occurred on Monday at around 8 pm when the youth climbed atop the banyan tree with a scarf, located adjacent to RMS building at Nagpur station campus.
The young man is reported to be in age group of 30-35 years.
Sources further said the GRP and RPF personnel tried to persuade the man in a bid to get him down but he continued climbing further upside.
By the time the railway personnel could do something more to get him down, he tied the scarf to a branch of the tree to hang himself and died on the spot even as people watch in aghast.
Sources said that a case of accidental death was registered by the police. Further investigation is underway. (UNI)
