Market remains bullish for the 6th day as Sensex surges 390.28 points

Mumbai: Extending gains in the sixth straight session on Friday, the BSE Sensex rallied 390.42 points at 56,072.23 following gains in Bankex, Finance and Materials stocks.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose 114.20 pts at 16,719.45.The Sensex registered days high and low at 56,186.05 and 55,685.45 pts respectively.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 16,752.25 and 16,610.90 respectively.The sectoral indices like Bankex, Finance and Materials stocks kept the rally intact for the sixth session today.

In 30 scrips, Ultracemco was a star gainer, up by 5.03 pc to Rs 6437 followed by HDFC Bank by 2.42 pc to Rs 1394, HDFC by 2.39 pc to Rs 2296.95, Axis Bank by 2.14 pc to Rs 731 and ICICI Bank by 1.70 pc to Rs 799.65.

The losers were Infosys by 1.70 pc to Rs 1506.85, NTPC by 0.90 pc to Rs 149.35, Wipro by 0.87 pc to Rs 410.50 and IndusInd Bank by 0.86 pc to Rs 940.

The Mid Cap fell by 0.17 pc while Small Cap rose by 0.21 pc.In 30 scrips, 16 advanced, 13 declined while one was unchanged.(UNI)
