Srinagar: People’s Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti has been issued a passport with 10-year validity after three years, party sources said here on Sunday.
The last chief minister of erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba was not issued a passport for the last three years.
She had moved court and also written to external affairs minister S Jaishankar over delay in passport issuance.
PDP sources said the passport with ten year validity was issued to Mehbooba. The passport delivered to Mehbooba is valid from June 1, 2023, till May 31, 2033, they said.
Delhi High Court in March this year had asked the passport authority to decide within three months about issuing a fresh travel document to the PDP chief.
Mehbooba was seeking the renewal of her documents which expired in 2019. (UNI)
