Etawah: Local authorities have gone for an innovative idea to force people to get Covid vaccination if they want to purchase liquor from the government run outlets in the district.

SDM Saifai took a unique initiative regarding the vaccine to prevent corona infection in Etawah district.

The act of SDM Hem Singh is also seen to have a wide impact because on Saturday the SDM appealed to the liquor contractors to sell liquor only after customer above 45 years shows their vaccination certificate.

Saifai's SDM move has been praised for this unique experiment of promoting vaccination in Saifai Tehsil.

The SDM and CO Rakesh along with senior and Excise Department team went out to inspect liquor and beer shops in wake of the death of people after consuming hooch in Aligarh on Saturday.

After examining the shops in Dumila Tirahe and Gija villages, the SDM directed to put up the posters for the vaccination in front of the liquor shops.

The SDM said, "I think this will promote vaccination.  From time-to-time, we will go to the shops to check how much the liquor outlets are executing their appeal."

Giving strict instructions to all the liquor outlets, the SDM appealed that they should sell only liquor approved by the Excise Department. Also, put up posters for vaccination awareness in front of the shops. (UNI)
