New Delhi: There was no relief to sitting UP Minister Gayatri Prajapati today by the Supreme Court, which refused to stay his arrest in connection with an FIR in a gangrape and sexual harassment case. A bench of the Apex Court headed by Justice Arjan Kumar Sikri and also comprising Justice Ashok Bhushan, refused to grant any relief to Prajapati.
The Supreme Court asked Prajapati to go to the court concerned if he wanted any relief. 'This court has passed the order and we are clear in it,' it said. A bench of the Apex Court made it clear that 'we are not going to modify our order.' The Supreme Court had said that they had ordered registration of FIR and investigation into the case asked to file a report in the case. The top Court clarified that they were not monitoring the case. Victim's lawyer pleaded to the court that the defense was telling a lie. The earlier FIR was registered on forgery charges. (UNI)
