Odisha: Bride cancels marriage over undue demand of mutton by Baraat party

Sambalpur: A bride cancelled her marriage at the last moment after the baraat party demanded more mutton to be taken with liquor.

The incident took place on Monday night in the outskirt of Sambalpur city.

As per information, a baraat party came to Gunderpur in Sambalpur from Sundargarh Brahmanpada for marriage.

But towards the end of the marriage , there was a shortage of 'extra mutton' for the baraat party who demanded it with liquor. The bride side, however, was not willing to provide extra mutton to be taken with liquor as dinner had been sufficiently served to all of them.

However, to solve the problem, the bride side requested the baraat party to wait for some time stating that they will arrange mutton from a hotel but the latter were not prepared to wait.

The bride said her father, and other senior relatives made the request, but the groom came out from his seat and engaged in a verbal duel with her guardians over the mutton issue.

The visibly upset bride then decided to cancel the marriage and told the family members that she would henceforth concentrate more on her career than wedding.

It needs mention that the bride was a post graduate in Science with a brilliant career. (UNI)
