Osmanabad farmer tries to kill self outside Maharashtra Assembly

Mumbai: A man claiming to be a farmer from Osmanabad attempted self-immolation outside the Maharashtra Assembly on Tuesday while the monsoon session was underway.

Subhash Bhanudas Deshmukh was rushed to a hospital where doctors said he had suffered 20 per cent burn injuries. His condition was said to be stable.

Visuals showed the man engulfed in fire as policemen attempt to douse the flames. (UNI)
