Vijayawada:Police conducted raids at various places in Krishna district and destroyed 868 litres of illicit liquor.
Talking to media, Superintendent of police Ravindranath Babu said that the police seized illicit liquor at Bantumilli, Kruttivennu, Guduru, Ghantasala, Koduru and Gudivada and seized 868 litres of illicit liquor and destroyed it.
Mr Babu said that the district police are containing the brewing of illicit liquor by conducting raids. He said 123 illicit liquor cases were registered across the district.
The SP said that the Preventive Detention (PD) Act was invoked against three persons for indulging in selling of ganja and banned gutka. He warned of invoking PD Act against those who indulge in distilling illicit liquor.(UNI)
