What! Ten year old rape victim denied permission for abortion by SC

New Delhi: The Supreme Court today turned down the abortion plea of a 10-year-old rape victim who is 32 weeks pregnant. She has to carry a pregnancy to full term, the bench headed by Justice Dipak Misra, ruled. It observed that it was too late now for her to abort.

The apex court accepted the medical report and submissions of Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, that it was too risky for the child to undergo abortion at such an advanced stage. (UNI)
