President, PM pay homage to Abdul Kalam on birth anniversary

New Delhi: President Pranab Mukherjee paid floral tributes to his predecessor APJ Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary at Rashtrapati Bhavan today. Mr Mukherjee garlanded the portrait of Dr Kalam and paid homage to him.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also remembered Dr Kalam, saying in a tweet ''Tributes to our former President, the person who captured the imagination of every Indian, Dr A P J Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary.'' Officers and staff of Rashtrapati Bhavan, along with family members of Dr Kalam, also paid floral tributes to the departed leader. (UNI)
