Punjab: Miffed over being fined, man cut off ASI's leg and throw it away

Mahilpur: Unidentified youths attacked a traffic police ASI with sharp weapons and cut off his left leg in Pandori Ladha Singh village of Mahilpur in Punjab.

According to ASI Bikramjit Singh, ASI Amrik Singh had challaned the accused a few days back. Out of resentment, the accused cut off ASI's leg and threw it away on Tuesday night.

Police said Makhan Singh, a resident of Emma Jatta village, spotted the ASI with blood on the road and informed the village sarpanch. Police have registered a case on Makhan Singh's statement.

He said the injured Amrik Singh has been admitted to a private hospital and is not yet in a position to make a statement.

Police have registered a case against the accused and started searching for them. (UNI)
