Lucknow: Rape-accused former Uttar Pradesh Transport Minister Gayatri Prajapati in the Samajwadi Party government, who had been absconding for days, was today arrested by Lucknow police. Pressure on Gayatri mounted yesterday, after police detained his son and nephew and court was on the verge of ordering seizure of his property.
Confirming the arrest, State Director General of Police Javeed Ahmed told UNI that the tainted minister was nabbed on the basis of information received from other arrested accused. (UNI)
