Thiruvananthapuram: In view of incessant rains in catchment areas, Red Alerts were issued in 9 dams, Blue Alerts in 5 dams and Orange Alerts in 5 dams in Kerala, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said on Sunday.
In a Facebook post, the Chief Minister said the Red, Blue and Orange Alerts were issued in dams coming under the State-owned Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB).
Red Alerts were issued in Kakki dam in Pathanamthitta district, Sholayar and Peringalkuthu and Peechi dams in Thrissur district, Kundala, Kallarkutty, Mattupetty and Kallar dams in Idukki district, and Chulliyar dam in Palakkad district.
Blue Alerts were issued in Pothundi dam in Palakkad district, Neyyar dam in Thiruvananthapuram district, Ponmudi and Idukki dams in Idukki district and Pamba dam in Pathanamthitta district.
Orange Alerts were issued in Vazhani and Chimmini dams in Thrissur district, Meenkara, Mangalam and Malampuzha dams in Palakkad district. (UNI)
