Ranchi: Protesting over the decision of allotting a room for performing Namaz MLAs of the BJP on Monday performed 'Bhajan-Kirtan' outside the assembly.
Equipped with 'dhol' and 'jhal' the BJP MLAs chanted slogans of Jai Shri Ram and sang 'Hare Rama Hare Krishna' outside the assembly.
Chief whip of the BJP and Bokaro MLA Biranchi Narayan said that when place can be allotted inside the Vidhansabha for performing Namaz then why not temple be allowed to be constructed inside the Vidhansabha.
He said that the government is catering to interests of one particular community and the party will oppose the decision from road to the assembly.
Congress MLA from Barkagaon Amba Prasad too extended her support to the demands of the BJP and said that arrangements should be made so that people from all the faiths and religions can perform prayers inside the Vidhansabha. (UNI)
