Sadhvi gangraped in Godda by 5, Sadhu beaten for saving victim

Godda: A 'Sadhvi' was gangraped inside an ashram located in Phudantola of Ranidihpanchayat located under Muffasil Police Station area of this district. 

The incident took place late night yesterday after the five men forcibly entered the ashram and took the victim to another room where she was gangraped by them. A Sadhu who protested was also thrashed by the culprits. 

The Sadhvi had come to the Ashram in the month of February but could not return as lockdown was imposed in the wake of Coronavirus.

The victim this morning reached the women police station and registered the complaint. She alleged that the culprits were carrying arms with them. However, as the news spread tension gripped the area.

Upon receiving the information Godda SP YS Ramesh reached the spot and inquired into the incident. Police claimed that two men have been taken into custody for interrogation.

Meanwhile, Godda MP Nishikant Dubey in a tweet attacked the state government for the incident. He said the criminals had gone out of control in the state but instead of catching them the chief minister was busy registering cases against him.(UNI)
