Savitribai Phule's statue to be unveiled in Pune on Jan 9

Pune: A statue of reformer Savitribai Phule will come up at the main building of the Savitribai Phule Pune University on January 9, Maharashtra Food and Civil Supply Minister Chagan Bhujbal announced on Monday.

The installation was scheduled on Monday but Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari could not make it to the university as the invitation to him reached late, Bhujbal said.

The unveiling ceremony will be held now on January 9. (UNI)
