Agartala:Tripura Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma and Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath congratulated 21 years old Arunabha Chakraborty hails from the city who became topper among 127 Indian Air Force flying officers pilot course.
Arunabha received the sword of honour from Air Chief Marshal at Air Force Academy Hyderabad on Dec 21 last after he had successfully completed 130 hours of flying experience till now on Pilatus aircraft during the course.
Arunabha was a part of the Passing out Parade for his graduation at AFA where he commanded the parade and also was awarded the president's plaque and the prestigious Sword of Honour for first in order of merit in the pilot course.
"The success of Arunabha will inspire many of our youngsters to pursue such exciting courses and to make Tripura proud," said Deputy CM Dev Varma while Education Minister Nath said, "Fighting against a number of odds in educational infrastructure in our state Arunabha emerged as a star and becomes a guiding force for future students."
Arunabha, a son of engineer had attended early schooling in Shisu Bihar School up to Class VII and thereafter shifted to RIMC, Deheradun. He later took admission in National Defence Academy Pune after schooling due to his immense passion and he was subsequently selected for the pilot training.(UNI)
