UP: Bodies of boy, girl found hanging from tree

Banda (UP): Bodies of a youth and a girl were found hanging from a Babul tree under mysterious circumstances in Attarra town of Banda district here in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, police sources said here.

Police sources said the bodies of the 21-year-old youth and 17-year-old girl were found hanging from the tree in Lodhan Purwa village Sunday morning. Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhinandan, Additional SP Laxmi Niwas Mishra and other officials reached the spot.

The SP said the officials visited the spot and inspected the place. He said the bodies were brought down and sent for post-mortem examination.

He said prima facie it seems to be a case of an affair. "Both of them were having an affair since long and failing to get married they committed suicide. During initial investigation it has been revealed that while the youth left his house around 1 am, the girl left around 2 pm. The matter is being investigated from all angles and legal action will be taken on the basis of certified evidence," he said. (UNI)
