VIDEO: NHRC issue notice to West Bengal govt, police over rape victim's dead body being dragged by cops

New Delhi: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued a notice to West Bengal government and state police over the reported undignified treatment meted out to the dead body of a minor victim of alleged sexual assault in North Dinajpur district.
 
Taking suo motu cognizance of media reports with photographs indicating that the dead body of a minor girl victim of alleged asexual assault was dragged away by the police in public view amidst protests in North Dinajpur, the Rights body has issued notices to the state Chief Secretary and Director General of Police calling for a detailed report in the matter within six weeks.
 
Reportedly, a video of the incident has also gone viral on social media. The girl belonged to the Scheduled Tribe.
