Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday met the tribal man Dashrath Rawat, who was urinated on by Pravesh Shukla, and washed his feet at the CM house in Bhopal.
Chouhan also apologized to Rawat for the incident and said, "I was pained to see that video. I apologise to you. People are like God to me."
MP CM shared the video of washing Rawat's feet and wrote, "I am sharing this video so everyone gets to know that the citizens are god in Madhya Pradesh."
"Atrocity against anyone will not be tolerated. The respect of state's citizens is my respect," he added.
The accused Pravesh Shukla’s house was razed by authorities on Chouhan’s orders.
Shukla was booked under the National Security Act (NSA) and is currently lodged in Rewa Central Jail.
