Watchman of Meghalaya Legislative Assembly dies of drug overdose

Shillong: An employee of Meghalaya Legislative Assembly died due to a suspected drug overdose inside the Assembly secretariat on Friday.
 
Police said the deceased, Lachuman Shrestha and was employed as the watchman of the Assembly secretariat.
 
The body was detected by the staff found Shrestha lying unconscious on his chair with a syringe on his right hand and drugs on the desk.

Preliminary investigation indicates that Shrestha could died due to drug overdose, but the exact cause of the death would be confirmed only after receiving a post-mortem report.
