West Bengal: Couple sells 8-month-old son to buy iPhone 14 for making reels

In a shocking incident, a West Bengal couple sold their eight-month-old son to buy an iPhone to make reels. The bizarre incident is reportedly from the state’s North 24 Parganas district.

The couple, identified as Jaydev Ghosh and Sathi, and the lady, named Priyanka Ghosh, who bought the baby, have been arrested by the police and the baby has been rescued.

The incident came to light after the couple’s neighbours got suspicious over the missing of their 8-month-old baby. Furthermore, the couple was spotted with an iPhone 14.

Since the couple was struggling to make ends meet days earlier, their possession of an expensive phone and touring different parts of the state to shoot reels raised the eyebrows.

The concerned neighbours informed a local councillor, who in turn asked police to investigate. Upon being questioned, the mother reportedly confessed to having sold her baby for an iPhone.
