Woman arrested for theft on board bus in Pune

Pune: The city police on Tuesday arrested a woman for allegedly stealing mobile phones and wallets from the purses of women passengers travelling in PMPML buses taking dvantage of crowd.
 
However, two police constables Pandurang Mane and Deepak Kokre of Lonikand police station boarded the bus last (on Monday) night to catch the thieves in the bus.
 
After some time, a woman in disguise boarded the bus with her husband and as the woman tried to run away by taking the man's wallet
 
The police team, which was located a few distance away, immediately rushed to the spot, gave a chase to the woman and caught her. While the young man, who was with her, escaped by taking advantage of the crowd, police said.
 
Police seized the stolen items from the arrested woman.
 
They are searching for other accomplices of the arrested woman, said Inspector Kaingade. (UNI)
