Amanda is a 27 year old Thai Canadian model. She has graduated from the University of Toronto in Management and Business Administration with first class honors in May, 2015.
She started her modeling career in 2011 and has worked with many brands since then including Sunsilk, School, PhaoHom etc.
She has earned various titles namely Miss Grand Phuket 2016, Miss Grand Rising Star 2016, Miss Tourism Metropolitan International 2016, which has given her immense exposure and experience in the field. She has also played roles in two series on Army Color Television Channel 7.
The model was crowned by her predecessor Paweensuda Drouin. Amanda never thought of becoming a Miss Universe before, but when she realized the meaning of beauty pageants and how they can give you a power to work for the people, she changed her mind.
After winning numerous titles in various pageants and being in this industry since long, she understood she wanted to compete for Miss Universe as it will help her to convey her intentions to the people. The pageants give one, a platform to inspire others and that resonated with Amanda’s ideas. She advocates for mental health of people and strongly wishes to spread awareness about the same.
On World Mental Health Day, she said she’s very grateful and proud of how far she has come and thanks everyone who was with her throughout the journey. She also said in her opening speech for Miss Universe Thailand 2020 that she’s ready to help the ones in need.
After this win, Amanda is now qualified to compete for the 69th global Miss Universe 2020 competition. All the Thais will hope for her to bring the much coveted crown back to their land, which if happens would make news after 32 years of such win.(WD)
