Travel agent rapes a woman for 8 months on pretext of sending abroad

Moga: A travel agent has been booked on the charges of raping a 26-year-old woman in this district of Punjab.The victim in her complaint said that accused Varinder Singh alias Velly took Rs 31 lakh from him and was raping her since past eight months on assurance of sending her abroad.A case was registered in this connection on Thursday.In another incident, eight boxes of illegal liquor were seized by police near Kaleke village.

Acting on a tip off, police laid a naka and intercepted a jeep. During search, police recovered boxes of illegal liquor. The accused, who was driving the jeep managed to escape.The accused was identified as Jasveer Singh alias Ghola of Kaleke village.A case has been registered against the accused.(UNI)
