Anil Kumble takes BMTC bus ride back home amidst Bengaluru bandh

Bengaluru: In the event of app-based cabs going off the roads due to private transporters' protest in Bengaluru, former Indian cricketer Anil Kumble took a BMTC bus ride back home from the Kempegowda International Airport here on Monday.
 
"BMTC trip back home today from the airport," Kumble shared the post on X with a picture amidst the bandh.

The Karnataka Private Transporter Association is staging a protest against the state government's Shakti scheme.
 
Under the scheme, the women are eligible for free bus ride in non-luxury buses free of cost, which has affected the private transporters. They are asking the government to compensate for revenue losses due to the scheme.
 
Meanwhile, the airport authorities and Vistara airline have issued advisories to passengers to allow themselves more time for their journey to the airport amidst the bandh.
 
"#TravelUpdate Due to the 'Bengaluru Bandh' on September 11, 2023, private transport might be disrupted. Customers travelling from Bangalore are advised to allow more time for their journey to the airport. Thank you," Vistara Xed. (UNI)
