Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the annual contract of the players.
Ravindra Jadeja, for the first time, has been included in the A+ grade of the annual contract of players for the year October 2022 to September 2023, according to BCCI.
For the past several years, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah were placed in A+ grade before including Jadeja. These players are paid Rs 7 crore annually by the BCCI.
Players placed in A, B and C grades are paid Rs 5 crore, Rs 3 crore and Rs 1 crore, respectively.
Hardik Pandya, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Rishabh Pant and Akshar Patel are graded A players, and will be paid Rs 5 crore annually.
Cheteshwar Pujara, Lokesh Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Siraj, Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill are in B grade, and will be paid Rs 3 crore annually.
Whereas, Umesh Yadav, Shikhar Dhawan, Shardul Thakur, Ishan Kishan, Deepak Hooda, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar, Sanju Samson, Arshdeep Singh and KS Bharat are in C grade, who will be paid Rs 1 crore annually.
There, however, is no name of veteran batsman Ajinkya Rahane in any category. (UNI)
