Chess: Young players shock high ranked players

Kolhapur: Fledgling youth women chess players equated top-seeded women players on four tables after they ended third round while Ashana Makhija, Sakshi Chitlange and Vrushali Devdhar registered shocking victory with defeating top seeded Rucha Pujari, Swati Ghatge and Shreeja Sheshandri.
 
After the completion of the third round on the third day of MPL 48th National Women Chess championship competition which held at Sanjay Ghodavat University Atigrey of this district.
 
Playing on first table with white pawns, Bemina Monica(Andhra Pradesh) equated the game on 35th move with catching in fiyancheto veriation of closed Sicilian method while Vishwa Shaha (Maharashtra) succeed to equate last year's winners Divya Deshmukh with using Cannol attack veriation with Sicilian method, which fight was continue till 87th move.
 
Mimi Jorge(Kerala) equated Meri Anna(petroleum sports) with accurate using Tiymano method in English opening while Rutuja Bakshi (Maharashtra) received acclaimed when she draw the game with Bhakti Kulkarni (Arjun award winner).
 
With remained eight rounds still, Sakshi Chitlange, Ashana Makhija and Vrushali Devdhar(all of Maharashtra), Bristi Mukharji (WB) were leading with three points each while 20 chess players were struggling for maintain their place with 2.5 points each. (UNI)
