FIFA WC 2018: England defeat Sweden 2-0, enters semis

Samara: England defeated Sweden by 2-0 in the World Cup quarter-finals on Saturday.Dele Alli and Harry Maguire helped England get a berth in the semis, while with this loss, Sweden's dream of winning a World Cup came crashing down.

Maguire scored his first international goal in the 30th minute, and took a 1-0 lead over Sweden at halftime.Sweden attempted six shots of which three were on target, while England hit two shots on target of  12 shots.

England has reached world cup quarter finals for the first time since 2006, when they lost on penalties to Portugal. This was the 25th meeting between England and Sweden.England will next face either Russia or Croatia, who meet later on Saturday.
