ICC U19 World Cup: India thrash Bangladesh to enter semifinals

Queenstown: The India Under 19 team stormed into the semi-finals of the ongoing ICC Under-19 World Cup after thrashing Bangladesh by 131 runs in the quarterfinals here on Friday.

The Prithvi Shaw-led India side will now face arch-rivals Pakistan in the semis.
Winning the toss, India opted to bat first and put 265 runs on board after being bundled out in 49.2 overs.

Shubham Gill was the top scorer with 86 runs while opener Shaw made 40 runs. 
Abhishek Sharma chipped in with valuable 50 runs lower down the order. For Bangladesh, Qazi Onik picked three wickets for 48 runs while Nayeem Hasan and Saif Hassan bagged two wickets each.

In reply, Bangladesh kept on struggling from the beginning as they kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and succumbed before Indian bowling attack at 134 runs.Opener Pinak Ghosh was the top scorer with 43 runs as other Bangladesh's batsmen fell cheaply.

K Nagarkoti was the wrecker-in-chief for India with figures of 3/18 while Shivam Mavi and Abhishek Sharma bagged couple of wickets each.
