India lose Asian Games Kabbadi gold after 28 years

Jakarta: India's 28 year’s old lease over kabbadi in Asian Games expired as men’s side lost the script and the deed 18-27 to Iran here on Thursday . Indian men in the process had to settle for a bronze medal for the first time after seven Asian Games at the Theatre Garuna here.

Pakistan also had a bronze medal earlier in the day, losing to Korea 24-27. However, Indian women kept the hopes alive for a Gold as they made it to the final, beating Chinese Taipei 27-14. For the title they will also clash with Iran, who defeated Thailand 23-16 in other semi-final.
