Afghanistan to face India in its debut test match on thrusday

Bengaluru: Union Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore will inaugurate the historic test match when Afghanistan will make its test debut against India at M Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Thursday.

The one-off test series has been named the Indo-Afghanistan Friendship series. Afghanistan earned their status as a Test-playing nation in June last year. The series is expected to give a massive boost to cricket in Afghanistan.

Col. Rathore, who is an Olympian and Medalist in Shooting, is a keen cricket buff. He is also expected to visit other Sports academies in Bengaluru during his stay. Since Col. Rathore is also the I&B Minister, he will be meeting I&B Ministry officers posted in the city, an official press release said here on Wednesdy.(UNI)
